PRINCETON — The Grace Performing Arts Center building in Princeton was dedicated on Dec. 14. Speakers at the event were Marge Albrecht, Mary Phillips, Terri Zearing and Festival 56 Executive Director Dexter Brigham.
The “Grace” is named in honor of Grace Albrecht, who, along with her nieces, JoAnn and Judy Albrecht, and her sister-in-law, Marge Albrecht, made the lead gift in the Princeton Theatre Group’s 2008 capital campaign. The monies raised funded the transformation of the former Bureau County Republican building on South Main Street into a theatre space for Festival 56 and a venue for theatre arts education.
Grace Albrecht, born and raised in Tiskilwa, was a teacher and life-long lover of the theatre arts. Marge Albrecht currently serves on the PTG theatre arts education committee. Terri Zearing and Mary Phillips, with Dexter Brigham, co-founded Festival 56 in 2003 and are both past presidents of the Princeton Theatre Group (PTG).
