Stage 212 announces cast

LASALLE — Stage 212 opens its 45th anniversary season in style with “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” the classic musical farce by Stephen Sondheim, Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart. “Forum” chronicles the exploits of ancient Roman slave Pseudolus as he tries to win his freedom by uniting his young master with the woman he loves.

Included in the cast are Doug Bartelt as Pseudolus, Tony Christopherson as Hero, Becky Martin as Philia, Greg Tullis as Hysterium, William Gillespie as Senex, Karen Leifheit as Domina, Rob Tyne as Lycus, Adrienne Van Horn as Tintinabula, Karen Lesman as Panacea, Elizabeth Ebener and Alyssa Plochocki as the Geminae, Meridith Donahue as Vibrata, Amy Rankin as Gymnasia, Matt Gerding as Erronius, Alex Guerrero as Miles Gloriosus, and Josh Dillon, Jacob Montgomery and Joey Beavers as the Proteans.

Production staff includes director Joseph Ennenbach, co-producers Natalie Smigel and Tracy Daugherty, music director/choreographer Deana Brown, assistant director Megan Baznik-Wilson and costumer Phil Grant.
