Lady Panthers clinch Princeville title

Putnam County wrapped up a present after Christmas, defeating Roanoke-Benson 54-28 to capture the Princeville Holiday Tournament championship.

Carly Gonet led PC with 18 points and Daniela Pavlovich added 16.

On Thursday, PC beat Princeville 50-46 as Gonet scored 18 points.

At St. Bede

St. Bede 65, Kewanee 41: Whitley Funfsinn led the Lady Bruins with 17 points, Raley Mauck added 13, Mo Dean nine and Laura Sickley eight as the Lady Bruins continued their home cooking in the Lady Bruins Classic Thursday, defeating Kewanee 65-41.

Jennifer Ensley had 16 points for Kewanee, which came in as the top seed in the Green Pool but fell to 0-3.

St. Bede locked up a berth in Saturday's finals vs. top-seeded Mendota with a 45-41 win over IVC to clinch the White Pool crown.

At Prophetstown

HBR 35, Hall 30: The Lady Devils played the former two-time state champion to a five-point game Thursday in the Lady Prophets Tournament. Hall outscored the Royals 14-9 in the second half. Becca Herrmann led Hall with 12 points and Bekka Dagraedt added seven.

Hiawatha 40, Hall 32: Becca Herrmann had 14 points for the Lady Devils in their first loss of the day Thursday.

The Lady Devils played future Three Rivers foe Riverdale on Friday.

At Erie

Monmouth-Roseville 45, Bureau Valley 15: The Storm held a 7-4 lead after the first quarter, but was outscored 41-8 the rest of the way. Nicole Bornsheuer led the Storm with 10 points.

The Storm fell to Mercer County on Friday.
