John Vowels Jr.

TISKILWA — John W. Vowels Jr., 72, of Tiskilwa passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

Born April 5, 1940, in Henry to William and Edna (Hayline) Vowels, he married Leonida “Vivian” Onggon May 27, 1982, at the Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years as an M.P.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tiskilwa.

Also surviving are two sons, John William Vowels III of Tiskilwa and Robert Charles Vowels II of Tiskilwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Charles Vowels.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, with a rosary to be recited at 12:45 p.m. followed by military honors by the Princeton Veterans Memorial Group. Burial will be private.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tiskilwa.
