RVP will present 'The Sound of Music'

HENRY — River Valley Players will preset "The Sound of Music" April 19-28.

"The Sound of Music" tells the story of Maria, a high-spirited nun who is sent to become a governess of the stern Captain Von Trapp and his seven troublesome kids. Maria quickly wins over the hearts and minds of the entire family with the joy of music, her spirit of freedom and the lessons of love, but their lives take a sharp turn when their homeland is invaded and they’re forced to escape over the Alps.

One of the most exciting and dramatic of musicals, "The Sound of Music" resounds with all your favorite Rodgers & Hammerstein tunes. Long after we’ve bid you Adieu and “So Long, Farewell,” you’ll still be humming “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Do-Re-Mi” and “Edelweiss.”
