PMH will host 'Pink Night' at Bureau Valley High School

MANLIUS — Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton will sponsor a “Pink Night” on Jan. 17 at the Bureau Valley Storm girls’ basketball game at Bureau Valley High School. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness, Perry Memorial and Bureau Valley High School are teaming together to show support for both the Bureau Valley Storm and breast cancer survivors.

According to the Susan Komen Foundation, it is estimated that in 2012 there were more than 226,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women and more than 2,100 new cases of breast cancer in men. Getting regular mammogram screening tests is the best way to lower your risk of dying from breast cancer. Screening tests can find breast cancer early, when it's most treatable.

This “Pink Night” event is being held at the Bureau Valley High School gymnasium. Those that wear pink to the game will have the opportunity to register for a door prize. In addition, Perry will be giving out educational material regarding breast cancer and the importance of self breast exams.
