Country pays hail dividend to Bureau County farmers

Bureau County farmers will receive $101,763 representing 9.3 percent of the premium they paid Country Financial for crop hail insurance protection on 2012 crops.

The continued financial strength of Country made the dividend payment possible. The amount of each dividend check will vary depending on the amount of crop hail coverage each policyholder had on crops during the 2012 season.

Statewide, nearly $1.3 million is being returned to more than 11,200 crop hail policyholders. The company provides crop hail protection on about 3 million acres of Illinois crops valued at more than $2 billion.
