Local resources for women affected by breast cancer
PERU — Women in the Illinois Valley area who have been affected by breast cancer can now access all local community resources in one location at IVBrCa.com.
Illinois Valley Breast Cancer Connection, via IVBrCa.com, was designed to assist breast cancer survivors and their families by providing resources that will assist in improving quality of life.
Local hospitals, oncology centers, support groups, grocery delivery services, assistance programs, and a calendar of local events are among the resources provided by IVBrCa.com.
Community members and health care professionals are encouraged to submit resources helpful to breast cancer survivors in the Illinois Valley area, or within driving distance. Resources can include oncology counselors, cosmetologists trained to assist oncology patients, wig fitters, oncology massage therapists, etc.

The name IVBrCa is derived from the common abbreviation for breast cancer, BrCa, and is pronounced “bra ka.”
