All gold medal winners will advance to the Illinois state Winter Games to be held Jan. 29-31 at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena. Cross-country skiing competition was canceled due to the shortage of snow and all area competitors automatically qualified.

For Gateway, Becky Nelson won the 100-meters and placed third in the 50-meters, Jennifer Tornow won the 50-meters and took fourth in the 100-meters, Nathan Warren swept the 200- and 400-meter competition.
