Trisha Schafer, president of the Princeton Area Church Women United, distributed $115,000 to representatives of 29 area service agencies during Wednesday’s annual distribution meeting. Each year, CWU distributes the profits from The Closet, its secondhand resale shop, to various agencies and organizations that serve Bureau County residents. Schafer passed out checks to representatives of the American Red Cross, Another Child Foundation, Bureau Valley Hospice, Bureau County Food Pantry, Bureau County Health Department Dental Clinic, Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic, Bureau County Senior Citizens Association, Crossroads High School in Tiskilwa, Cub Scout Pack 4151, CWU projects on the national, state and local level, Early Beginnings, Gateway Services and C.I.L.A Homes, Illinois Theatre Conservatory — Camp 56, Illinois Valley PADS, In-Home Care VNA, Living Works — Suicide Prevention, Making It Program, Our Table, Prairie Arts Council, Princeton Christian Academy, PES Plays, Princeton Ministerial Emergency Fund, Safe Families, St. Louis School, Association, Tabitha’s Hands, University of Illinois Extension 4-H, WUNT radio, Young Life and the Zearing Child Enrichment Center. Wednesday’s distribution was another in an annual series of donations. Since moving to its location on Princeton’s north end in May 2003, CWU has donated more than $1 million to area organizations.
