Rummage sale

PRINCETON — The Princeton Veterans Group will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the American Legion Post, 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton. There will be food available both days by the American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary. Proceeds will be used to support activities at the LaSalle VA home. Volunteer training

PRINCETON — The Freedom House domestic violence and sexual assault service agency is now taking registrations for its 2013 volunteer training course. This training will be Tuesdays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 19 through June 4. The registration fee is $150 or a 75 hour in-service commitment to Freedom House. The training has been moved from Kewanee to Freedom House’s Princeton office. Interested applicants may call Michelle Spears at 815-872-0087 for more information. Registration ends on Monday.

Enrichment classes

WALNUT — Beginner wood carving, an adult enrichment class, will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 9 at the Walnut Public Library. The cost is $10 per person. Gene Henrickson will teach the class. Class must be paid for when you register. You can register by stopping by the library at 101 Heaton in Walnut.
