IVCC Facilities Committee meets

OGLESBY — The Illinois Valley Community College board’s facilities committee met Jan. 9 to review several projects including Cultural Centre upgrades such as replacement of the stage floor.

In addition, the committee discussed contracting with an outside firm the process of purchasing furniture for the Peter Miller Community Technology Center and agreed not to recommend repairing the failed dam at the college pond southwest of the gym at this time, although appropriate safety measures will be implemented immediately.

Finally, the committee will recommend enhancement to the CTC main entrance to include thousands of commemorative named bricks purchased by private donors. The brick paver initiative will be launched this spring and is part of the $2.1 million CTC capital campaign.
