And the band played on ...

I like to play music a lot,. I love the way it sounds, but to be honest, I personally don’t like a lot of the current music, I like old, classical music, like “Canon in D” or “Trumpet Voluntary.”

I play the trumpet. I have been considered to be pretty good at it in our band. I liked our band teacher a lot. Her name was Mrs. Aper; she was really fun and energetic, and she loved all of our individual  playing skills and styles. She would teach us how to learn the music but left the part of how we played it up to our own pace. She was an amazing teacher that we all loved to have.

The reason our band was good was because of our teacher. But she passed away this year a few months ago. After her, our band hasn’t been the same. We have had replacement teachers, and just recently got our new teacher. I personally wouldn’t have liked any teacher coming in to fill in their position, but they all helped our community in a state of gloom and grief. I would like to personally thank them for filling in such a difficult roll.

I want to play in band throughout the rest of my time in school. Playing the trumpet has been a great experience for me. I got a Disney music book on Christmas; it has a lot of the songs that I love in it. It’s a fun book. I even tried to play a few on the piano over Christmas break (I forgot my trumpet at the school).

I have seen some incredibly talented people over the Internet on YouTube playing the piano, I wish I was at their skill level. I really love the piano and want to be able to play it very well.

I love music from movies too, like “The Lord of The Rings,” “The Hobbit,” “Star Wars,” and Disney movies. I even downloaded an app on my iPad that allows you to tap notes as they come down the screen; they make notes according to what side of the screen they are on. This app is inspiring, for me at least, and really makes me feel a love and will to keep pursuing music and to learn the piano like an expert.

This society’s music isn’t really that appealing to me. I like some of it, but most of it is a bit of a letdown. Music can be an inspiration and a blessing; some places play music that can promote my beliefs and ideas, but other music may not. If everyone has an unforgettable experience with music that they appreciate, then they can enjoy it as much as I have.

But playing music is another way of unlocking this drive. It really is fun to play, choose an instrument, and who knows, you may be a musician when you grow up or start to become more professional. I hope you can feel the drive too! It may change your perspective on music!
