Also, a chili luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Walnut Community Center, 129 S. Main St. The library needs to replace the furnace this winter. Advanced ticket sales are available at Citizen’s First State Bank, First Federal Bank and Walnut Public Library. Children 0-5 are free; ages 6-12 $4; ages 13-adult $6; and seniors 60 and over $4.

TISKILWA — The next book club/dinner discussion at the Tiskilwa Public Library will take place at 5:30 p.m. Monday. “The Chaperone” by Laura Moriarty is inspired by the life of silent-film star Louise Brooks. It is the story of two women who could not be more different, and the summer that changed them both.

SPRING VALLEY — Story time is held every Tuesday from 5:30 until 6 p.m. in the children’s room at the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library. There is a story and a craft-related project during this time for preschool children through second grade. A parent must accompany their child. This is free of charge.

The library is collecting aluminum cans with the proceeds going to the support of the library. The cans may be dropped off at the library during the hours of operation, which are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday; 2 to 7 p.m., Thursday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday. The cans should be tied in a plastic bag and placed in the large box inside the west front door. People living in Webster Park may drop off their bags of cans at 202 Elm St. in the driveway. The library board meets at 8 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

LADD — The Ladd Public Library continues to hold its pre-school story times on the first and third Monday of each month at 10:30 a.m.

OHIO — The Ohio Public Library will host the Bureau County Farm Bureau at p.m. Wednesday as they present their program on sheep at the library. Participants will perform activities dealing with sheep. Snacks will be provided.
