Storm spread some Christmas joy

Like any good grandson, Jason Marquis made sure to visit his two grandmothers in Princeton nursing homes over the holiday season. He took his Bureau Valley Storm basketball team to help spread some Christmas joy with some good old-fashioned Christmas caroling.

The singing Storm were a big hit at all three facilities they visited.

“It’s easy to make their day being young people,” Marquis said. “We’ve got a bunch of able-bodied young men who need to give back to the community and that seemed like an easy, fun way to offer something back. The kids were excited about it, constantly singing ‘Silent Night’ every night to close practice as we were approaching our caroling expedition. We’ve got a good bunch of kids with good families so I think they realized it was a nice gesture and that it is fun to serve other people in simple ways like caroling.”
