Girls’ basketball

Rock Falls 59, Princeton 31: Senior captains Makenzey Wilson (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Emmalee Sears (11, 13) combined for 23 points and 24 points in Saturday’s loss at Rock Falls.

The Tigresses played to a 14-10 game before the Lady Rockets blasted  off for a 19-2 second-qaurter run to grab a 33-12 halftime lead. Morgan Mammosser led Rock Falls with 18 points.

Riverdale 96, Bureau Valley 27: The Ramettes threatened triple digits in a Three Rivers runaway Saturday. For Bureau Valley, Krista Naaktgeboren had seven points, Heaven Bennett had six and Nicole Bornsheuer had five.

At Byron: St. Bede dropped two games in the Byron MLK Tournament Saturday with two more on tap Monday. In a 57-55 loss to North Boone, Lydia Stariha had 14 points, Raley Mauck 13 and Mo Dean 12. The Lady Bruins fell to Belvidere, 61-41, with Dean scoring 10 points.
