Marquette’s Johnson hits game-winner at Hall

Hall senior Brett Fanning reached the 1,000 career scoring mark, but Ottawa Marquette’s Curtiss Johnson stole the show Friday at Red Devil Gymnasium

Johnson hit the game-winning shot from the top of the key with 30.2 seconds left to lift the Crusaders to a 65-62 win over the Red Devils.

Fanning led all scorers with 26 points, reaching the 1,000-point mark in the third quarter. Ian Trevier added 12) and Miguel Villareal had 11.

St. Bede 63, Newman 36: Joe Pyszka had 14 points, Brad Groleau 13 and Damin Smith 12 as the Bruins rolled Friday in Sterling.
