The front door of The Coffee Cup has a closed sign on it after the restaurant was closed Sunday night for remodeling. No date has been set to reopen the business.

PRINCETON — Despite a sign on the front door saying the Coffee Cup in Princeton is closed, the longtime restaurant will open its doors in the future after undergoing a remodeling project.

According to the Coffee Cup’s current manager, who spoke with the BCR Tuesday morning but declined to give her name, said the restaurant located at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and North Main Street is being remodeled, not closing its doors.

“We want to give the restaurant a new, clean look,” she said. “It is important to our customers to have a safe and clean environment. We want to give it a little facelift.”

The Coffee Cup will be open in the future, but she was unable to disclose a certain date for reopening, only saying as soon as possible

“We look forward to seeing our regular customers again, especially farmers who come here for coffee and breakfast,” she added. “We want to welcome them back.”

The manager said Brahim Jusufi, the current owner of the restaurant, was also unavailable for comment.

Employees were told Sunday night the restaurant was closing, according to Jouqenia Johnson, a waitress who works at the Coffee Cup.

“We were told for the first time it was closing, and then we were told we could reapply for our jobs when it reopens,” said Johnson.
