PRINCETON — The University of Illinois Extension - Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam Unit will offer “Money in Bloom: Free Webinars for College Students.”
Students are invited to an interactive webinar to talk about money. “Money in Bloom” is a free webinar series for college students, who can participate from anywhere there is a connection to the Internet with a computer or tablet. For those thinking about studying abroad, taking out a loan or looking for a job, there is a webinar available.
“Money in Bloom” series includes three topics: “Financial Wellness While Abroad;” “Staying on Good Terms: Credit & Debt;” and “Making the Most of Job Benefits.” Webinars will begin in February, and continue in March and April. Each webinar is offered twice. Students can register for one, two or all three webinars.
The first webinar, “Financial Wellness While Abroad,” focuses on how to estimate pre-departure costs, budget money while abroad, and the pros and cons of using different forms of payment while abroad. To participate, register for either webinar at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 5 or at 3 p.m. Feb. 20.
“Staying on Good Terms: Credit & Debt,” will discuss why credit is an important financial tool and how a credit report affects daily life. This will be presented at 2 p.m. March 1 and 11 a.m. March 6.
Job benefits such as health care and retirement benefits, as well as vacation time, can make a big difference in your quality of life. Learn more about this at the third webinar, “Making the Most of Job Benefits” at 2 p.m. April 3 and 4 p.m. April 22.
