GRANVILLE — The Hall Red Devils opened the 2013 Tri-County Conference basketball tournament in winning style Tuesday, defeating Peoria Christian 65-58.
Brett Fanning poured in 25 points and Matt Boucher and Miguel Villareal added 11 each for the winning Red Devils.
Hall faced Roanoke-Benson in Wednesday's semifinal, seeking a berth into Friday's title game. R-B upset No. 1 seed Henry 63-60 on Monday. Wednesday's second semifinal matched Putnam County vs. Woodland.
Also Tuesday, Streator Woodland went into overtime to defeat No. 6 Ottawa Marquette 65-62. Zane Noonan had 19 points for the winners with Curtiss Johnson netting 19 for the Crusaders.
Thursday's schedule in the consolation bracket will match DePue vs. Lowpoint-Washburn at 5 p.m., Henry vs. Peoria Christian at 6:30 p.m. and Midland vs. Marquette at 8 p.m.
On Friday, the winners of the Henry/Peoria Christian and Midland/Marquette games will meet for the consolation championship. The third-place game will tip at 6:30 p.m.with the championship to follow at 8 p.m.
