Youngren named Offensive Player of Year at Monmouth
The Monmouth College football awards banquet was recently held and three area athletes were recognized.
Garrett Youngren of Princeton was named as the Offensive Player of the Year, voted on by the players and coaches. The 6-6 senior wide receiver/tight end led the Fighting Scots with six TD receptions, while averaging 12.5 yards per catch (23-287).
Teammate Brik Wedekind of Princeton was recognized as the first-team All-Midwest Conference punter. Also the Fighting Scots quarterback Wedekind rushed for 296 yards and nine TDs and threw for 1,667 yards and 15 scores.
