Jan Monier

WALNUT — Jan R. Monier, 49, of Walnut died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Jan was born Dec. 28, 1963, the daughter of Harold E. “Mick” and Betty (Kessel) Payne. She was united in marriage to Donald S. “Don” Monier on Nov. 20, 1982, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Walnut.

She worked for Clifton Gunderson LLC in Princeton for more than 20 years. Jan was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Walnut and the Altar Rosary Society. Jan was a loyal supporter of Bureau Valley High School and BVHS athletics.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Walnut; two daughters, Kristie (Jeff) Cady and Hillary Monier, both of Walnut; two sons, Bradley (Tami) Monier of Geneseo and Jordan Monier of Walnut; her mother, Betty Payne of Walnut; four grandchildren, Owen Cady, and Shelby, Dani and Sidney Clary; three sisters, Joy (Dan) Hoffman of West Branch, Iowa, and Jill (Bruce) Gonigam and Julie (Kent) Mathew, both of Walnut; one brother, Jay (Melissa) Payne of Lisle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Jeff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Walnut, with Father Thomas Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.

A memorial in her memory has been established to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Memorials can be sent to ALS TDI, 300 Technology Square, Suite 400, Cambridge, MA 02139.
