PC wins TCC crown

GRANVILLE - The Putnam County Panthers held off a second-half charge by the Hall Red Devils, winning the 2013 Tri-County Conference Tournament championship 64-63 Friday night at R.M. Germano Gymnasium.

Hall trailed 32-24 at halftime and 48-43 after three quarters. Red Devil Danny Nolasco made a steal with Hall trailing 64-63 and Brett Fanning got off a shot at the buzzer for the win, but missed as PC held on.

Streator Woodland beat Roanoke-Benson for third place while Peoria Christian topped Midland 52-48 for the consolation championship.
