Arthur Stickel

PRINCETON — Arthur Lee Stickel, 89, of Princeton passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

He was born June 19, 1923, in Henry to Albert Lee and Isabell (Bobby) Stickel. He graduated from Putnam High School in 1942. He farmed for most of his life in the the Princeton area. Art was a member of Kiwanis, a gold coat at Perry Memorial Hospital and was in the Antique Tractor Club. He also enjoyed restoring farm equipment, and Midget and Sprint car racing. He married Patsy Jane Yarrington on Aug. 14, 1949, in the Putnam Christian Church.

Art is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patsy Stickel of Princeton. Also surviving are two sons, Lynn (Jenny) Stickel of Mark and Ted Jon Stickel of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, David and Elizabeth Stickel of Mark; and one sister, Roberta Millard of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Albert Stickel; his sister, Dorothy Morse; and another sister in infancy, Isabell.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Pastor Marvin Strom officiating. Burial will follow in the Putnam Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Campus Crusade for Christ or Special Olympics.
