Just a reminder ... Valentine’s Day is only a couple of weeks away. Plan now to make it special for those you love. When I was a little kid, my grandpa used to buy us a little box of Russell Stover candy every year. It became a tradition that I never fail to remember when this special day of love rolls around. Traditions turn into memories ... and after all, when it’s all said and done ... memories are all we really have.

What do you think? I always admire the folks who write Letters to the Editor. Sadly, not many people these days have an opinion — at least one they’re willing to share with other readers. Send your Letters to the Editor (500 words or less) to opinion@bcrnews.com or mail them to the BCR, P.O. Box 340, Princeton, IL 61356. Please include your telephone number for our verification, not publication.

Thought for today: “When I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest of times, and to the latest.” Henry David Thoreau.

Thought for tomorrow: “The trick is not how much pain you feel — but how much joy you feel. Any idiot can feel pain. Life is full of excuses to feel pain, excuses not to live, excuses, excuses, excuses.” Erica Jong.

I hope 2013 is going well. They say, “Out with the old,” however, I’m thinking “In with the old,” is a better way of living. We can’t forget the old friends who made us who we are today. Get in touch. Breathe. Exhale. And remember ... you are important to me and the BCR.
