PC-Hall lands second in ‘Super Dual'

GRANVILLE – The first ever Super Dual Meet in Putnam County High School wrestling history was held Saturday.

Final results had Ottawa in first place; PC-Hall, second; St. Bede, third; Midland, fourth; and Ottawa Marquette, fifth.

For PC-Hall, Tyrell Foockle (160 pounds), Mike Milasuski (170) and Austin Pletsch (182) all went 4-0 for the day,

Teammates Pletsch and Joe Boggio of Putnam County along with Hall’s Milasuski were pleased with the day’s efforts.

“It just shows that we keep working harder, and it will help us out at regionals. This day is huge,” Pletsch said.

“It’s one of the best feelings going out there on the mat. It’s a really good way to prepare us for regionals,” Boggio said.

“I’m glad we can participate in bigger meets and super duals. It is better than being away on the road,” Milasuski said.

PC-Hall wrestled defeated Midland 54-18. PC gave Midland its 18 points due to forfeits at the first three weight levels. PC-Hall won all other matches by pin falls.

Winners included Dylan Croissant (132 pounds), Tyler Tabor (138), Joe Boggio (145), Jacob Levy (152), Tyrell Foockle (160), Milasuski (170), Pletsch (182) and Nathan Tonozzi (195). Mario Flores (126) at 220 pounds, Blake Bodie (220) and Zach Ziegler (285) all earned forfeit wins.

PC-Hall then took on Ottawa and lost 39-18 for their only loss of the day. PC-Hall earned two wins and one forfeit during the meet. Tyrell Foockle pinned Seth Daugherty at :49 seconds at 160, Pletsch pinned Paul Turner at 182 and Milasuski won by forfeit at 170.

PC-Hall took on St. Bede in the first meet of the afternoon session and won 42-34. PC-Hall gave up a quick 18 points on forfeits, but fought back and earned the win.

Flores got the Panthers rolling at 126 by pinning St. Bede’s Anthony Schneider at 1:36. In other matches, Dylan Croissant (138) pinned Connor McDavitt of St. Bede at 2:33 in the second period, Lucas Foockle (152) pinned St. Bede’s Nick Puhr at 1:47, Tyrell Foockle (160) pinned St. Bede’s Ryan Kelsey at 3:20, Milasuski (170) pinned St. Bede’s Chris Kerasotas at 3:10, Pletsch (182) pinned St. Bede’s Sam Bennet at 1:23 and James Hall (220) pinned St. Bede’s Adam Crowe at 2:15

PC-Hall finished up the day taking on the small Ottawa Marquette squad and won 42-6. Marquette won their only points at the 106-pound level with a PC-Hall forfeit. At 152 pounds,, Jacob Levy pinned Casey Wheatland at 1:45, Milasuski (170) pinned David Johnson at 3:15 and Pletsch (182) continued his day’s dominance by pinning John McBean at :47 seconds during the first period.

Coaches Jerry Kriewald and Joe Rue were delighted by the results.

“It was a great way to end the weekend before regionals. There was a lot of wrestling and a lot of fun,” Kriewald said.

“We wrestled pretty solid, and I am extremely happy,” Rue said.
