PC stands fourth with nine titles
With its ninth Tri-County Conference Tournament championship, Putnam County now stands fourth overall in the 87-year rich history of the event that dates back to 1927,
PC passed up Roanoke-Benson, which has won it eight times. The only schools with more TCC titles than PC are Toluca (16), Wenona (12) and Henry (11). Only Henry remains today, the other two schools lost to consolidation.
Granville Hopkins School, which merged with Hennepin and Magnolia Sweeney to form PCHS in 1966, won six straight TCC titles from 1933-38 and claimed a seventh in 1941.
