AURORA, Colo. — Richard Baetens, formerly of Wyanet, has published his first science fiction/mystery novel called “Paradox: Traveler.”

The novel, takes place in the fictional town of Harris, Ill., where a local sheriff’s deputy tries to stop a series of grizzly serial murders before they happen. The novel is the culmination of nearly six years of work for the author.

How do you stop a serial killer from the future? How far would you go to keep your child from being his next victim? What if you knew you would die trying to save her?

These are the questions that Killian County Sheriff’s Detective Mark Thompson must answer in "Paradox: Traveler."

The novel is set in the year 2006 and is the first in a planned series following several of the main characters as they struggle to keep time travel from being misused.

“Paradox: Traveler” is currently available in both trade paperback and eBook editions (for Kindle) on Amazon.com. There is a planned release for the Barnes & Noble Nook and iTunes by the end of January. A sizeable sample of the book is available for download at www.richardbaetens.com as well as additional information on how to obtain a copy. “Paradox: Traveler” will also be available at the Tattered Cover Book Store in Denver, Colo., or at www.tatteredcover.com.
