Book sale fundraiser

PRINCETON — A book sale fundraiser for the Princeton Bible Church mission trip to South America in June will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, Saturday, and again Friday and Feb. 9 at 104 S. Main St. (formerly Cash for Gold store), Princeton. About 3,000 books have been donated for the book sale. Categories include art, history, fiction, antique books, doll collecting, cookbooks, children’s books and many more. For more information, call Kate Butler at 815-878-8163.

Meeting planned

PRINCETON — The Northwest Princeton Unit of Home Extension will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Barb Ollila. Co-hostess Melvina Lewis will give the lesson, “In the kitchen with whole grains.” Pat Wood will furnish the auction gift.


LADD — A Rip’s chicken fundraiser, hosted by 10/33 Ambulance Service, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Rip’s, 311 N. Main St. in Ladd. Both dine-in and carryouts will be available. The cost is $7 per dinner of one-quarter chicken or strips and french fries. Every ticket is eligible for a door prize. Raffles and bake sales will also be available. All proceeds will go toward critical care equipment. Tickets are available by calling 815-663-6683 or at the door.

Borrowed items

PRINCETON — The Princeton American Legion is asking those who have borrowed hospital equipment from the Legion to consider returning those items if no longer needed, especially the wheelchairs. Questions may be directed to the Legion by calling 815-872-1171 and leaving a message.
