Reception is planned for Rev. Dwight Bailey
PRINCETON — The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Princeton has welcomed the Rev. Dwight Bailey as their third interim pastor.
Bailey began his pastorate with the church on Jan. 13 and is now settled into the church, his office and the parsonage. He will be serving FCC on a part-time basis.
Bailey is a native of North Carolina and attended Atlantic Christian College (Barton College) and Brite Divinity School of Texas Christian University. He has served churches in Kansas and Illinois and positions as campus minister in Texas and Illinois. Most recently, he was the pastor at Austin Boulevard Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Oak Park. In addition to his duties at Princeton, Bailey serves as a regional elder for the Christian Church Illinois-Wisconsin in the Urban-Metro Cluster and is an active member of the CCIW Pro-Reconciliation/Anti-Racism team. At the regional assembly in October 2012, Bailey received the Disciple of Merit Award. This is the highest honor given by CCIW to recognize outstanding service to the congregation, region and general church.
