Auxiliary and Legion will meet Wednesday

PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its monthly business meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home, 1549 W. Peru St., Princeton.

Final plans for the March fundraiser will be put into place with ideas/suggestions asked for from all members. Future guest speakers will be discussed. Member input is needed.

Letters of information will be sent out to those members who do not attend meetings on a regular basis. Proceeds from the kitchen sales during the veterans rummage sale will be heard.

Discussion will also be heard on upcoming fundraisers with ideas/suggestions asked for from all members. Members are asked to save their empty prescription bottles and bring to meeting for donation.

The Unit’s charter will be draped in memory of Gladys Boyer, a longtimemember of the Auxiliary.

VA&R chair Clara Pease will announce upcoming workshop dates for the local veterans the Unit serves each month in four local nursing homes and those who are homebound. Membership information can be had by attending any scheduled business meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at the post home at 7 p.m. or call chair Carol Allicks at 815-872-7891. All new and transfer members are most welcome.

The Roger L. Eickmeier American Legion Post 125 of Princeton will hold its business meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home.

All interested in new membership or to transfer to Post 125 should attend a meeting or call the post home at 815-872-1171 and leave a brief message and phone number.

A report will be heard on proceeds from the recent rummage sale held at the Legion post.

Blue Star banners and new nylon U.S. American flags are available at the Post. Call the post home and leave your message and phone number. There is a container in the vestibule for old torn, tattered flags disposal.

The legion building is available for family events, rummage sales, funeral meals, business meetings, birthday/anniversary parties, smaller receptions and fundraisers. Call 815-872-1171 and leave a message.

A light lunch will be served after the meetings.
