Veterans workshop

PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its monthly veterans workshop at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Legion home; note the new start time. Members are reminded to bring baked goods for the veterans sacks if it is their turn. For workshop information, call VA&R chair Clara Pease at 815-872-0403. To make a monetary donation to the Auxiliary for the veterans work, mail same to Clara Pease, 321 Briar Lane, Princeton, IL 61356. Attn: Veterans.

HCCC luncheon

PRINCETON — The Hampshire Colony Congregational Church Woman’s Circle will meet at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Wise Guys in Princeton for a luncheon and social hour. To confirm attendance, call hostess Judy Topham at 815-872-5052. The Circle will continue its Mission project of “Count Our Blessings” for community disbursement at years end.

Ash Wednesday event

BUREAU — The First Congregational Church of Bureau will hold its Ash Wednesday potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the church’s Fellowship Hall at 101 W. Nebraska St. in Bureau. There will be an Ash Wednesday message and communion will be served. Everyone is invited to attend.

Joint worship service

PRINCETON — A joint worship service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Princeton, 316 S. Church St. at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Members of the First Christian Church, the First Presbyterian Church and the United Methodist Church will participate in worship to mark the beginning of Lent. A light meal will be offered before the service, starting at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Borrowed items

PRINCETON — The Princeton American Legion is asking those who have borrowed hospital equipment from the Legion to consider returning those items if no longer needed, especially the wheelchairs. Questions may be directed to the Legion by calling 815-872-1171 and leaving a message.
