Jesse Leathers

TAMPICO — Jesse O. Leathers, 78, of Tampico died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Trinity West Medical Center in Rock Island.

He was born May 20, 1934, in Orchardville, the son of Emery and Sylvia (Williamson) Leathers.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Ron Wolf farms for nearly 40 years.

Surviving are one brother, Jack (Kathy)  Leathers of Tampico; two sisters, Ella Mae (Chester) Clevenger of Tampico and Noma Laurence of Jeff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marian Clark; and one niece, Kimberly Clark.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Walnut, with the Rev. David Menet, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery with military rites accorded by Walnut American Legion Post 179.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut.

The Garland Funeral Home of Walnut is in charge of arrangements.
