Genealogy Guild meeting
OTTAWA — The LaSalle County Genealogy Guild will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 16 at the guild library, 115 W. Glover St. Judi Doychak, will speak on genealogy in Czechoslovakia.
Bureau County reunion
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The annual Arizona Bureau County reunion will be Feb. 28 at J.J. North (formerly Hometown Buffet) at 1312 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, Ariz. The buffet will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Breakfast in Buda
BUDA — A pancake and biscuits and gravy breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Buda Community Hall. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 4-12.

PRINCETON — Friends of Princeton Public Library will hold a “Romance Sale” from 2 to 8 p.m. Feb. 21 in the sale room at the library. The complete selection of books will be on sale with many new arrivals on the shelf. The group’s spring sale will be April 18, 19 and 20 at the library.
SPRING VALLEY — Officials at Spring Valley Elementary School District are reminding parents of children who may have missed the recent kindergarten pre-registration to contact the school at 815-663-5631 as soon a possible. Pre-registration is for children who will be five years old by Sept. 1 and is necessary so the district can predict incoming enrollment.
SPRING VALLEY — The monthly meeting of the Dominic Oberto American Legion Post will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Club Rooms, 307 W. St. Paul St.
Pancake breakfast in Walnut
WALNUT — An all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast, hosted by the Walnut Fire Department, will be from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday at the fire station. Biscuits and gravy available too. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12.
PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will sponsor its quilt show March 16 and 17 at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton. Show times will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 16 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 17. Mary Serafini, American Quilter’s Society certified appraiser, will be taking appointments by calling 815-339-2171.
