Lenten event

PRINCETON — Kris Gould will perform during Wednesday’s Lenten musical meditation and luncheon at the Hampshire Colony Congregational Church in Princeton. The meditation begins at 12:10 p.m. in the sanctuary and will end at 12:30 p.m. when lunch will be served.

Spaghetti supper

PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will hold a spaghetti supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Legion post home, 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton. Tickets will be available at the door for $6 for adults, $3 for ages 10 and under. There will be a 50/50 drawing plus a bakery table and something new this year will be a Country Store. The Auxiliary will serve spaghetti, meatballs with sauce, salad with dressings, garlic bread sticks, beverages and desserts. This is a major fundraiser for the Auxiliary.

Blood drive

PRINCETON — The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will have a blood drive from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 19 in the fourth-floor multi-purpose room at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. To donate, call 800-747-5401, ext. 119.

BCGS meeting

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Genealogy Society has changed the typical fourth Thursday monthly meeting due to Holy Week activities in the community. For March only, the group will meet at 7 p.m. March 21.

Workshop planned

PRINCETON — The Princeton Arts Academy will host an Easter basket weaving workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 23 for ages 6 to 15. Participants will be able to create their own basket than can be used as decoration or to hold Easter treats. They will also learn the history of basket weaving, basic weaving techniques and create one-of-a-kind basket. The workshop will include materials for practicing as well as a finished decorated basket to take home. Lunch will be served halfway through. The cost is $35.
