PRINCETON — Friends of Princeton Public Library will hold a “Romance Sale” from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the sale room at the library. The complete selection of books will be on sale with many new arrivals on the shelf. The group’s spring sale will be April 18, 19 and 20 at the library.
WALNUT — The Walnut Winners 4-H Club will hold its annual pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Walnut Senior Citizens Center on Main Street in Walnut. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-12. Tickets are available from any club member or at the door the day of the event. The breakfast is all-you-can-eat and carry-outs will be available.
MINERAL — The Mineral Gold Fire Department will host a taco supper from 4 to 8 p.m. March 2 at the Mineral Community Hall. The event will also include a 50/50 and raffle.
SHEFFIELD — The First United Church of Christ in Sheffield will hold its monthly community coffee from 7 to 10 a.m. March 3 in the U.C.C. Parish Hall. Fresh-baked cinnamon rolls will be served.
PRINCETON — A St. Patrick’s Day drawdown, dinner and dance, sponsored by the Princeton Lions Club, will be March 16 at the Princeton Elk’s Lodge. The dinner begins at 6 p.m. followed by the drawdown at 7 p.m. and the dance at 8:30 p.m. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 drawing. Tickets include a corned beef and cabbage or chicken and pasta dinner for two for $35. Only 200 tickets sold. Tickets are available from any Lions Club member, at Cannon Cleaners or by calling Lewis Bodamer at 815-872-1506.
WALNUT — The Red Oak United Methodist Church, 16961 2900 North Ave., will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 3. The menu includes fish, baked beans, coleslaw, french fries and drink. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3.50 for children under 12. Carry-outs are available.
