Streator, IVC find new conference homes

One former NCIC school’s move to a new conference has opened the door for a current NCIC school to make its own switch.

Streator has accepted an invitation to the Interstate Eight Conference, pending board approval Tuesday evening, at the same time declining to entertain a move to the Corn Belt Conference. With that decision, Chillicothe IVC has been extended an invitation by the Corn Belt, according to the Senior Reports.

Streator, which joined the Northern Illinois Big 12 after leaving the NCIC in 2010-11, also met with officials of the Corn Belt, but informed them it was looking at other options.
