While Bureau County residents and residents across the country are looking ahead to August and weighing the impact of the end of Saturday delivery, some area residents are already feeling the pinch.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Postal Service announced plans to transition to a new delivery schedule during the week of Aug. 5, that will eliminate Saturday delivery with the exception of packages.

However, in May 2012, the Postal Service announced plans to cut the hours of 21 Bureau County post offices, some by as much as 75 percent. The following cuts were announced:
