Connecticut man sentenced on drug charge

PRINCETON — Adam C. Solon, 25, of Hartford, Conn., pleaded guilty on Feb. 6 to the Class 4 felony of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannabis and was placed on two years probation, with the condition he serve four days in the Bureau County Jail, pay fines, fees and court costs, attend counseling as recommended by the probation department, and submit to random drug testing.

Solon entered his guilty plea before Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei. Solon was represented in court by attorney Stephen Komie of Chicago. Prosecuting the case was Bureau County State’s Attorney Patrick Herrmann.

On Oct. 11, 2011, Solon was driving a rental car on Interstate 80 and was pulled over for a traffic violation. The K-9 officer from the LaSalle Police Department alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed cannabis contained in duffle bags in the vehicle’s trunk.

This is Solon’s first conviction.
