More classes are being planned, so check back to this spot often to see what’s new.

A reminder: the library now has  three binders full of coupons to exchange. There is no limit on how many coupons you can take, and if you have coupons you do not use, please bring them to the library, even your expired ones. What can’t be used in the binders is sent to troops serving overseas.

SPRING VALLEY — The Richard A. Mautino Library will celebrate “Family Reading Night” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28. There will be a Book Hunt (a game for the entire family). There is no charge to participate. Prizes will be given for successful sleuths. Please call the library at 815-663-4741 to register.

Story time is held every Tuesday from 5:30 until 6 p.m. in the children’s room at the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library. There is a story and a craft-related project during this time for preschool children through second grade. A parent must accompany their child. This is free of charge.

The library board meets at 8 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille-Clarion Public Library will offer a class on multimedia in March. This class will cover working with digital photos, digital music and videos. Anyone interested in the class should call the library at 815-638-2356. Computer classes are ongoing, so if you haven’t had the opportunity to take advantage of these free classes there is still time. All materials are furnished. Classes are funded by the Eliminate the Digital Divide Grant. Need to update or build a resume? Library staff are available to teach you how to use the Cypress Resume database.

The library will soon be lending eReaders and offering eBooks to our patrons. Certain stipulations apply.

OHIO — The Ohio Public Library will host a webinar from the state of Illinois for individuals with disabilities to learn about resume writing. This event will be held at the library at 10 a.m. Feb. 27. Prior registration is required.

There will be a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 3 at Sip N’ Snack in Mendota. Tickets are available at the library or from any board member for $7 for a chicken dinner. There also will be raffle items, a 50/50 drawing, and bingo at 1 p.m.
