RosElla Blessman

MASON CITY — RosElla M. Blessman, 86, of Mason City passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at St. Joseph hospital in Bloomington.

RosElla was born in Easton on May 30, 1926, a daughter of Harold and Grace (Ringland) List. She married Don Blessman on Dec. 29, 1943.

RosElla was a secretary at the Mason City High School and a member of the Mason City United Methodist Church. She had recently moved to Westminster Village in Bloomington where she was enjoying a very active life. RosElla was a caring mother and grandmother who always placed her family first. She loved people and touched many lives with her outgoing ways.

Surviving are a daughter, Donna (Bob) Stadsholt of Normal; a son, Gary (Marcia) Blessman of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Jen (Jeff) Herrman of Bloomington, Kara (Gary) Thompson of Bloomington, Erica, Drew, Scott and Stephanie Blessman of Princeton and Julie Blessman of Tuscola; and two great-grandchildren, Braden Herrman of Bloomington and Corinne Thompson of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Don List.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Joseph hospital in Bloomington for their excellent care.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Mason City United Methodist Church with Pastor Stephen King officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mason City Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or Westminster Village Foundation.
