Bezely confesses to SV burglary

PRINCETON — Christopher A. Bezely, 27, of Spring Valley has been sentenced to four and one-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to the Class 2 felony of burglary on Feb. 7. On Jan. 17, the Spring Valley Police Department was called by Marco Medina, owner of M&D Resale and Pawn Store in Spring Valley, regarding a burglary that occurred on that date. Video surveillance showed Bezely entering the store through an unlocked window, taking small items from the store, placing them in a duffle bag, and then leaving the store through the front entrance. The video also showed Bezely entering the store earlier the same day and unlocking a ground-floor window in the back of the building. Bezely confessed to the burglary on Jan. 20 when he was interviewed at the Spring Valley Police Department and confessed to the burglary. Bezely has prior misdemeanor and felony convictions in Bureau and LaSalle counties.
