Spring Valley Police

Fleeing and attempting to elude police

Curt A. Koehler, 49, of Oglesby was charged with numerous citations following a pursuit begun by Oglesby police on Route 89 and ending in the 200 block of West Seventh Street in Spring Valley at 5:20 p.m. Feb. 4. Spring Valley police charged Koehler with reckless driving, fleeing and attempting to elude police, disobeying a stop sign, speeding, improper passing and endangering the life or health of a 9-year-old child who was also in the vehicle.

Retail theft

A 15-year-old female from Spring Valley was charged with retail theft after allegedly stealing $22 worth of merchandise from the Dollar General Store in the 100 block of South Spalding Street at 4:25 p.m. Feb. 4.

Warrant arrest

Matthew A. Persich, 25, of Spring Valley was arrested on a Madison County warrant for failing to appear on a charge of obstructing justice in the 200 block of South Greenwood Street at 2:12 p.m. Feb. 10.

Deer accident

Randal L. Pyszka, 63, of Spring Valley struck a deer on Route 29, just west of Verde Ranch Road, at 8:50 p.m. Feb. 10
