During a three week unit in January, Tina Eller’s Bureau Valley High School Spanish 4 students studied Spanish-speaking artists. Students researched their chosen artist and wrote a composition in Spanish. The students also presented the information to the class speaking Spanish and fielding any questions from their classmates in Spanish. The last component of the project was to replicate a work of art of their famous artist. Each student chose a work they felt they could replicate by painting in watercolors, acrylics or pastels, sketching with pencil, snapping a photograph or sculpting with clay.
