George VanLoo

FULTON — George L. VanLoo, 81, of Fulton died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

George was born June 1, 1931, in Sheffield, the son of August and Elma (Bohart) VanLoo. He married Julia Giltner on April 14, 1951, in Sheffield. He was employed by Standard Oil for 25 years, most recently as district manager, and retired in 1980. George was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling, camping, gardening and reading.

Survivors include his wife of Fulton; three daughters, Janet (John) Tappe of Westboro, Wis., Teresa (Gerald) Etzel of Rome, Ga., and Nancy (Larry) Anglese of Albany; three sons, Tim (Ramona) VanLoo of Colona, Joseph (Kathy) VanLoo of Fulton and Neal (Donell) VanLoo of Janesville, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
