Princeton Rotary Club releases information on 2013 Swan-Eickmeier Scholarship Program
PRINCETON — Five $1,000 non-renewable scholarships will be awarded to Princeton High School graduating seniors pursuing a two- or four-year college degree. The scholarship funds must be applied directly to tuition, room and board, fees or textbooks/media. Payment will be made directly to students in one installment during the year following graduation.
The criteria for students applying for the scholarship will include the intent to complete a college degree, enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited college or university, and enrollment as a student at PHS for at least one academic year prior to graduation. Selection will be based on candidate’s academic achievement, extracurricular and community activities, letters of recommendation, and a 500-word essay about how Rotary service and ideals will play a role in their life.
“This marks the 13th year the Princeton Rotary Club will be offering scholarships,” said Judson Lusher, scholarship committee chairman. "The Swan-Eickmeier Scholarship is another way for the Rotary Club to further their support and interest in the education of Princeton’s youth. Members take great pride in the scholarship program because it helps students financially and furthers our mission of helping others,” he added.
