Robert Bass

WALNUT — Robert G. Bass, 90, of Walnut died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

Bob was born on Nov. 18, 1922, in Hamilton Township, Illinois, the son of Leo and Katherine (Spencer) Bass. He was united in marriage to Betty Paden on Dec. 3, 1943, in Bloomington, Ind. He served in the Combat Engineers of the United States Third Army under General George Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. Bob was a longtime poultry farmer.

Bob is survived by his wife, Betty Bass of Walnut; one son, George Bass of  Loves Park; one daughter, Anna (Ed) Donnelly of Walnut; five grandchildren, Seth (Nicole) Bass, James ( Jennifer) Donnelly, Erin (Matthew) Davis, Laurie (Diego) Pascual and Katherine Donnelly; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice Watkins of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
