Free popcorn and movies in a local theater every week ... almost sounds too good to be true.

That’s what I thought when I heard of Dr. Rick and Mary Ann Cernoviches’ organization, the “Sheffield Pride Arts Center.” Apparently when Rick was a boy, he used to go to movies on Saturday afternoon and wanted to pass that opportunity along. It’s as simple as that, really.

I just wanted to say thank you to the Cernoviches and to invite others to come with their kids to the children’s showing at 1:30 p.m. Saturdays in Sheffield. You can also “Like” it on Facebook to see what is showing. Joey Bishop will be there popping corn waiting for you. It is a real treat, and our family appreciates it!
