Margaret Emmerson

SHEFFIELD — Margaret M. Emmerson, 91, of Sheffield went to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Liberty Village of Princeton.

Margaret Lauwagie was born March 4, 1921, in Sheffield, the daughter of Honore and Leontine (DeVos) Lauwagie. She married Roger Emmerson on Aug. 8, 1942, in Annawan. He died on Oct. 20, 2000. Margaret farmed with her husband for 38 years in the Sheffield area until retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheffield and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She was also a member of Clark-Carrington Post 1051 American Legion Auxiliary, Mineral. Margaret had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drives and the Sheffield Share Food Distribution. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and a variety of games. Her greatest joys were her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
