Klein recognized for ICAHN service

The Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network has recognized Lynn Klein, chief executive officer at Mendota Community Hospital, for her service as president of the statewide organization.

Serving the ICAHN network as president in 2011, Klein supported the organization in further advancing its mission to strengthen and provide assistance and resources to its 52 member hospitals. Klein remains a member of the ICAHN Board of Directors and serves on several key ICAHN committees.

Pat Schou, executive director of ICAHN, said, “Klein has done an outstanding job as president this past year. Under her leadership, ICAHN has grown and expanded services to members as well as take an active part in the delivery of statewide healthcare services for rural communities.”

Klein has served on the ICAHN Board of Directors since 2008, as chair of the ICAHN Insurance Committee since 2007, and as a member of the Tax Exemption Committee in 2010.

Klein holds positions with other state and local organizations and has served as the CEO at Mendota Community Hospital since 2004. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, and has over 25 years of experience in hospital administration. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a registered health information administrator. Klein lives in Cherry with her husband, Mike. They have two daughters.

ICAHN is a network of 51 Illinois critical access hospitals dedicated to strengthening the operations of its member hospitals through collaboration. Illinois CAHs are small rural hospitals 25 beds or less that provide primary and emergency services to more than 1.2 million rural residents. ICAHN is recognized nationally for its work with rural healthcare and administers several state, federal, and private healthcare programs. The ICAHN office is located in Princeton, and serves critical access hospitals across Illinois.
